The life insurance benefit helps you with arranging, for example, debt, collaterals and daily life. It does not reduce any statutory compensation that may be paid to your family. Learn more about the insurance terms and conditions here.
The life insurance cover’s benefit amount is a sum corresponding to two years’ annual income. The benefit amount is always determined according to the situation as reported by the employer, which is usually updated in the spring. The precise benefit amount is stated annually in the insurance extract sent by Mandatum. The benefit is paid to the next of kin or to other designated beneficiaries as a lump sum.
All AFRY Group Finland Oy, AFRY Finland Oy and AFRY Management Consulting Oy employees with a permanent employment contract are covered by the insurance. The life insurance covers death caused by an illness or accident and is valid 24/7 anywhere in the world. The life insurance is valid for as long as your employment continues.
The beneficiaries are your next of kin. You can change the beneficiary by logging in to the Web Service www.mandatum.fi and sending a message about the beneficiary. In your message, be sure to mention that the change in beneficiary concerns “AFRY’s Group Optimi insurance”. Please note that the life insurance taken out by your employer does not show in the policies in Mandatum’s Web Service.
The insurance is valid for as long as your employment at Nokia continues, and when your employment ends, you have the option of continuing the life insurance cover by taking out an insurance policy yourself, without the need for a health declaration.
In addition to the benefit amount under the life insurance offered by the employer, you can take out separate life insurance as additional cover. As AFRY’s employee you will receive a 30% discount on it negotiated by your employer. You can also supplement the insurance with cover for critical illness, for which your employer has negotiated a 10% increase in the sum insured. The requirement for the discounts is that there is no need to use increased premiums based on the health status of the insured. Buy additional cover through the link below or ask us to contact you.

The beneficiaries are your next of kin.
Based on the beneficiary clause “Next of kin”, half of the life insurance compensation is paid to the spouse and the other half is divided equally between the direct heirs. The direct heirs are the insured’s children.
Half of the insured sum is paid to the insured’s spouse, and half to the direct heirs as referred to in the Code of Inheritance. If the insured has no children, the spouse alone receives the insurance benefit. If there is no spouse, the insurance benefit is paid to the children. If one of the children is deceased, the deceased child’s share is paid to his or her children in accordance with the Code of Inheritance.
If there is no spouse, children or their children, the benefit is paid to the insured’s parents in equal shares. The share of a deceased parent is paid to his or her children, i.e. the brothers and sisters of the insured. If there are none of the aforementioned relatives, the benefit is paid to the grandparents. The share of a deceased grandparent is paid to his or her children, i.e. the uncles and aunts of the insured. Cousins no longer inherit, i.e. no benefits are paid to cousins based on the next-of-kin clause.
You can change the beneficiary by logging in to the Web Service www.mandatum.fi and sending a message about the beneficiary. In your message, be sure to mention that the change in beneficiary concerns “AFRY’s Group Optimi insurance”.
