PERSONNEL FUNDS
You can withdraw the accumulated funds, i.e. your fund unit, once a year. You can submit notice of a withdrawal annually when your updated fund unit can be viewed in the Web Service and in the Mandatum Money mobile app. We will notify you when your updated fund unit information can be viewed.
If you wish to withdraw your fund share, submit notification thereof in the Web Service or in the Mandatum Money app. The notification period and procedure varies depending on the fund – more information regarding your fund is available in the Web Service and from our customer service. The capital, i.e. fund unit, withdrawn from the fund will be paid into your account at the latest within four months of the fund’s closing date. You can see the fund’s payment date in the Web Service. The value of the fund unit that you have chosen not to withdraw is defined annually based on the applicable valuation date.
When your employment ends, the fund unit is paid into your bank account. The payment date depends on whether your employment has ended before or after the fund’s annual closing date. You can see the fund’s closing date in the Web Service.
Mandatum will receive your employment and contact information directly from your employer. When your employment ends, you will receive a letter from the fund by post. You can also read the letter in the Web Service’s archive.
Withdrawal of assets
If you resign/your fixed-term employment contract ends: Once your employment relationship ends, your fund unit will be paid to you in its entirety at the latest within four months of the fund’s next annual closing date. If your employment has ended on or before the fund’s closing date, your fund unit will be paid automatically into your account on the payment date of the current financial year. If your employment relationship has ended after the closing date, your fund unit will be paid to you on the payment date of the next year.
When you retire/your employment relationship ends for production or financial reasons: The payment schedule is the same as in the previous section. However, you have the right to spread the withdrawals of your fund unit over the next four (4) years. When exercising your right to spread out your withdrawals, the withdrawal notification concerning the spreading of withdrawals must be submitted annually during the fund’s notification period. You can select the amount you wish to withdraw annually from the value of your unit. If you do not let us know that you wish to exercise your right to spread the withdrawals, your fund unit will be paid to you in its entirety on the payment date.
Your membership in the fund will end when your employment ends and your fund unit has been paid to you in its entirety.
Twenty per cent of the withdrawn fund unit is tax-free, and the remaining 80% is taxable income that will be taxed according to the additional tax rate. Your additional tax rate is updated directly in the fund by the Finnish Tax Administration. Alternatively, you can apply for the calculation of a tax card for your personnel fund unit. If you wish to use the tax card calculated for the personnel fund unit, please send the tax card to Mandatum as an attachment to a message via the Web Service immediately after you have sent the withdrawal notification. We will send you an answer in an online message after the change has been processed.
If you are retired, request the tax authority to calculate your tax percentage for your personnel fund unit and send the information to Mandatum either attached to a message in the Web Service or by post to Mandatum at: Mandatum Palkitsemispalvelut, Asiakasposti, PL 788, 00101 Helsinki. If Mandatum does not have your tax rate information, we will withhold 60 per cent in tax.
Mandatum will provide the Finnish Tax Administration with information about the paid fund unit on your behalf.
Mandatum will receive your employment information and bank account number directly from your employer. Your additional tax rate is updated through the Finnish Tax Administration. If you wish to change any of the information above, you must inform Mandatum thereof. The notification must be submitted before the time limit expires, which is the same as when notifying us of fund unit withdrawals.
You can submit the request by sending a message through the Web Service. Additional information on submitting notification of a change is also available from our customer service if necessary, at the number +358 10 516 7002.
Your personal fund unit is the amount of your assets that are in the fund; these assets accumulate from your bonuses that are transferred to the fund and from the investment returns they generate.
The right to bonuses is determined by the reward schemes that are in place in the employer company. Bonuses are added to members’ fund units, as specified in the fund’s rules.
The fund invests the accumulated assets in the manner laid down in the Act on Personnel Funds. The fund’s rules may also stipulate how the assets shall be invested. The investment returns are distributed annually among the members in proportion to the amount of each member’s personal fund unit. The value of the fund units is determined annually on the fund’s annual closing date (= valuation date).
