Responsibility for personnel

Leading by example

Responsibility for personnel and sustainable practices are part of building a successful business. The wellbeing of employees is strategically important to Mandatum. Mandatum's HR practices are based on the understanding that taking care of personnel guarantees customer satisfaction and puts the company in an even better position to achieve success.

AWARD-WINNING WORKPLACE

Mandatum has a long history of measuring employee satisfaction through various surveys. The company's long-term work to build a thriving work community has paid off: in the Great Place to Work survey, Mandatum was selected as one of the best places to work in Finland eleven years in a row, from 2010 to 2021, and achieved first place in the large organisations category of the survey in 2020 and 2021. From 2022 to 2025, Mandatum has earned the Future Workplaces certificate, which is based on the Siqni employee survey. The certificate is awarded to organisations whose corporate culture is led with exceptional employee insight. Mandatum has been recognised every year it has taken part in the survey, which demonstrates a consistent commitment to improving the employee experience.

We promote diversity, equity, and inclusion

Mandatum values and actively promotes diversity among all its personnel groups. By drawing on the different backgrounds, competence and skills of its employees, the company strives to increase its overall value and create a more innovative, fair and caring work environment where differences are seen as a strength. In Mandatum's view, the organisations that are able to make full use of their employees’ competence and motivation will be winners in the future.

Mandatum offers equal opportunities to all of its employees. For each position in the company, the most suitable person is chosen in compliance with the principles of non-discrimination and equality. All employees are also encouraged to develop and use their strengths so that everyone can reach their full potential.

Mandatum's goal is to ensure that practices and processes are free from discrimination and that these values show in the company’s operations. Diversity and inclusion issues are included, for example, in the Mandatum Way guide on workplace culture and in supervisor training.

Focus on work ability management and employee wellbeing benefits

At Mandatum, special attention is also paid to work ability management and benefits that support employee wellbeing. The company offers its personnel comprehensive insurance cover and the opportunity to transfer their bonuses into a personnel fund. Responsibility for personnel also means providing security for employees and their families in case of financial risks.
